I just finished a great book called Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor Among Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students by Zaretta Hammond.
Teachers today are working in classrooms with diverse student bodies. It brings both joys and challenges. It can be overwhelming trying to understand how to even start to adjust teaching practices to meet the needs of so many different students. A good first step is to remember to begin with relationships, as Ms. Hammond explains in her blog post and podcast below.
