Many people are looking for resources now to understand the racial tensions we are experiencing in the States. The article was written back in March, before the recent string of violent acts against African Americans. I think the advice of the author is even more appropriate now when tensions are high and so many African Americans are emotionally exhausted. Reading a book and sincerely seeking to hear the voice and know the pain of those who are different might be one of the most caring things a white person can do right now.
